7's players paid bonuses for first leg

The Vodafone Fiji 7s players received their bonuses from their naming sponsors upon their arrival Nadi International Airport yesterday.

The Ben Ryan-coached sided were awarded $20,000 for the Cup title win at the Dubai 7s and $4,000 for the plate title victory at the Cape Town 7s.

Humbled by their achievements, Captain, Osea Kolinisau believes they could have done better.

“We are disappointed because we set the standard and we know the way we played against France, we gave chances away and we gave them a lot of chances and we never took our chance.”

The team, arrived into then country without coach, Ryan and will go into a one-week break before resuming training next Tuesday.

Minister for Youth and Sports, Laisenia Tuitubou was present to welcome the team at airport.

Meanwhile, Fiji is grouped with Argentina, Wales and Japan in the Wellington 7s in New Zealand which will be played the 30th and 31st of next month.
