Seventy-six schools will take part in the Fiji Secondary School Rugby League zonal competition which is set to kick off this weekend.
This is an increase of 35 schools compared to forty one last year.
FSSRL President Iosefo Volau says it is overwhelming to see the growth and the interest shown in the sport at secondary level.
“The Fiji Secondary School Rugby League competition has produced products for both the Fiji Bati and also for the FNRL. Virimi Vakatawa who now plays for France started from this competition and also Bill Kikau and many others.”
The zonal competitions will start on Saturday in all four divisions.
