The names of 56 athletes were announced yesterday to compete in the Youth Commonwealth Games in Samoa next month.
Fiji will be represented in seven sports athletics, rugby 7s, archery, squash, swimming, tennis and weightlifting.
Team Fiji Chef de Mission, Lyndall Fisher says the athletes are into their final phase of training as the opening day gets closer.
“All athletes are training hard and are very excited about going as for most of them, this is their first time. Coming straight from the Pacific Games, there has been a lot to get done by getting the uniforms organized for the teams. The Federations are responsible for their playing uniforms.”
The Youth Commonwealth Games will be held in Apia on September 5th to the 12th.
