Banuve working on improving his personal best

Pacific Sprint King Banuve Tabakaucoro hopes to set a new record at this year’s Pacific Games.

Speaking to FBC Sports, Banuve says he’s working on improving his personal best and hopes to retain the Sprint King title.

Reigning Sprint King Banuve Tabakaucoro says the young athletes in the Fiji team are coping well in training with the Pacific Games just weeks away.

 They are actually doing very well, there are couple of athletes that compete at the Coca-Cola Games and with the ongoing issues about other athletes that could not make it, its just unfortunate that the Coca-Cola Games was not a standard qualification round for the Pacific Games but other than that other athletes are doing really well.

With Fiji being well represented on the tracks – the expectation is also high for the Fiji Women’s Basketball.

We are quite confident with the card pool of players that we have selected that we will be able to retain the gold in Samoa.

The 2019 Pacific Games will be played in Apia, Samoa from the 7th to the 20th of next month.
