Government Ministries have been urged to justify every dollar while utilising the 2018 and 2019 budget.
Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum made this statement as he directs various ministries to deliver.
Sayed-Khaiyum says accountability and transparency is vital.
“We are bringing better governance to a higher level of accountability and transparency to independent institutions in particular the Water Authority of Fiji, Fiji Roads Authority, the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji, board members of these bodies needs to run a tight shot and every tax payer’s dollar needs to make an impact.”
The Ministry of Economy will continue their zero tolerance on corruption and if there is any abuse of funds in any ministry, people will be taken to task.
