Youth unemployment forecast to rise

Youth unemployment is forecasted to rise in the Pacific over the coming years says Employment Minister Jone Usamate.

Usamate says according to the International Labour Organization this is expected

He adds the government is still in the process of developing a National Employment Policy which will focus on employment in general and pay particular attention to youth unemployment.

Usamate says a key challenge for any country is enhancing productivity.

These comments were made during the opening of the Recoveries Corporation Group Limited.

The new call center is expected to create one hundred and seventy new jobs.

Usamate says this new venture will assist in boosting the economic growth.

It has taken four years of planning to set up RCL which is located at the Kalabu Tax Free Zone.
