An unemployed 20-year-old man, who is alleged to have raped a 74 year old woman of Nasinu, has been remanded in custody.

Meni Raitekiteki appeared before Magistrate Sufia Hamza today at the Nasinu Magistrates Court.

He has been charged with one count of rape, one count of giving false information to a police officer on duty, one count of burglary and one count of theft.

The case is now transferred to Suva High Court to be heard on the 28th of this month.

Earlier today the accused was taken to the Nasinu Police Station for other pending cases.
