August 1, 2015 12:03 am

Villagers in the furthest islands in the Yasawa Group will no longer face transportation problems to the mainland.

A new 60-passenger boat was officially handed over to Yavusa Bouwaqa – which has four villages by the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday.

Bainimarama says the purchase of the $300,000 passenger vessel was made possible through the collaboration of Government and the community, which managed to raise $55,000 for the boat.
