The Ministry for Public Enterprises today received a dividend cheque from Yaqara Pastoral Company Limited of about one million-dollars.
The company had made the initial payment of $3.3 million dollars to the Government out of the $4million that was supposed to be given to the Government as dividend for the years 2011 to 2012.
Receiving the cheque today was the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Industry and Trade Shaheen Ali.
“I would like to commend the great work that the Chair and the CEO and the board has done on Yaqara Pastoral Company Limited in terms of their financial status. If we look at the years 2011 and 2012 the years in question on which we have been receiving the dividends, there have been remarkable improvements in terms of revenue.”
Eighty percent of the revenue was generated through Beef sales between 2011 and 2012 with other enterprises being sugarcane and sheep.
