About 10 yachts were thrown inland from the Savusavu Bay during the onslaught of TC Winston on Saturday.

Some yachts landed on mangrove patches, some were partly on the roads and some ran aground.

The yachts were moored at the bay, taking shelter from TC Winston.

Meanwhile, Savusavu Town received some minor damages.

There were debris strewn along the main street and power lines and trees were down.

Assessment teams are currently on the ground in Savusavu to get a detailed report on the extent of damage
