WWF loses one of its founding Fathers

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is mourning the death of Dr Luc Hoffmann who passed away last week at the age of 93.

In mourning the co-founder of the global organisation, they are also celebrating his extraordinary life-long contribution to nature conservation.

In Fiji, Dr. Luc’s work on establishing the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands was recognized in 2006 with the Upper Navua Conservation Area designated a Ramsar site.

An ardent ornithologist from early childhood, Dr Luc Hoffmann obtained a PhD in Zoology and authored more than 60 books and publications on birds and their habitats.
