Written objections invited to alter the zoning of Botanical Gardens

Written objections for an amendment to the Approved Suva City Town Planning Scheme to alter the zoning of land forming lot 2 Botanical Gardens from Recreation Space to Special Use Embassy is being invited.

This has been prepared in terms of the Town Planning Act and has been provisionally approved by the acting Director of Town and Country planning.

Council acting chief executive, Bijay Chand the particulars of the altered scheme has been deposited in the offices of the Acting CEO of the SCC and acting Director of Town and Country planning and is available for inspection by the public on weekdays.

The value of this piece of state land is $1.5m.

This land is being exchanged with the land in Delhi as the Indian government has given a piece of land to Fiji in Delhi valued at $107 million.

People have until the 25th of this month to send their written objections to the acting CEO.
