A workshop for Building Resources in Democracy Governance and Elections Training is being facilitated by the Fijian Elections Office (FEO).

This is to assist participants understand the international principles for elections and how it is implemented.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says Fiji needs to start from the basics due to lack of understanding in elections.

Saneem says the workshop is a doorway of achieving greater heights by FEO in terms of its future plans.

“We need to establish an educational institute which will have its presence within Fiji and slowly go towards the region and to this we started with BRIDGE which is an international standard course in elections, it is internationally accepted as a course in election and qualifications in BRIDGE are recognised by elections management body all over the world.”

The workshop will end this Friday.
