Workshop to address livestock woes

A workshop which will be held in Nadi next week will seek to address the challenges that exist within the Livestock Industry.
Some of these challenges include Fiji’s continued import imbalance for livestock products, the demands from the growing tourism industry, and a renewed national government push for the agriculture sector.
The proposed strategy will develop a clear plan for livestock development in the country, given the challenges the sector faces.
The three-day meeting is being hosted by the Pacific Community (SPC)’s Land Resources Division with support from the European Union funded Pacific Agriculture Policy Project implemented by SPC.
It will be held at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi, Fiji, from 17-19 February to review.
