August 29, 2018 4:17 am

The Local Government Ministry is currently working to improve the solid waste management services in the peri-urban areas.

Minister responsible Parveen Kumar says a joint program will soon be launched between the municipal councils, the Ministry for Waterways and the Health Ministry to help strengthen this service.

“The program is expected to be launched in the 1st week of October. People are working towards this and we need to jointly launch. It’s no more a blame game, it has to be a quality effort then and only we will be able to deliver what has been given in the budget, otherwise at the end of the year, we might have to return the funds that we have.”
