Workers who spend a lot of time in the heat are facing health issues.

This include agriculture workers, commercial fishermen, construction workers as well as workers involved in the transport sector.

Employment Ministry Permanent Secretary Salaseini Daunabuna says they’ve received reports that some workers are already facing health issues due to extreme heat.

" In terms of global warming and effects on the workforce overheating some of the issues that can arise at the workplace and this can also affect the productivity of workers and how they perform at the workplace."

Meanwhile, the employment ministry is working towards identifying existing companies already facing these problems and work with them to ensure better working environment.
