Work on the $65 million Fijian Holdings Tower will begin as Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama officiated the groundbreaking ceremony in Suva today.
The tower will house 13,000 square feet of commercial office space.
Bainimarama says the tower will house Fijian business, international agencies and organizations and diplomatic staff which will lead to more economic growth.
He says such investments are a beacon to the rest of the nation about Fijian progress, greatness and achievement.
“It brings every Fijian hope for what is to come when they look out over the capital and see the cranes dotting the skyline and the new structures being erected, all clear and impressive signs that we are finally fulfilling our destiny and finally realizing our great potential as a nation.”
Work on the tower will be completed by 2021.
Construction of the tower will be carried out by China Railway first group Fiji Limited.
