Vanua Levu has now entered a new era of development as construction on the $40 million complex by Damodar Brothers Limited in Labasa begins.

Last night, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama officiated at the ground breaking ceremony for the new complex.

Bainimarama says entrepreneurial Fijians are taking advantage of the economy’s upward trajectory, and investing back into their bustling customer-base.

He says this investment gives proof to Fijians that Vanua Levu has entered into a new age of economic development.

Bainimarama says both immediate and long-term job opportunities will come as a result of this development.

Over 100 locals will get employment during the construction phase.

The Damodar Group has specifically insisted with its contractor that workers from Vanua Levu be hired for the project.
