Tue Senibiau Women’s Club at Dreketi Village in Wailevu Savusavu has received about $20,000 worth of equipment from the Ministry of Women.

These included a solar panel, a TV set, baking equipment, and a water tank.

Handing over the equipment yesterday Minister for Women Mereseini Vuniwaqa says she hopes they will be put to good use as was requested.

During her visit to the village last year, the women shared their difficulties with the Minister.

They requested for some baking equipment so they could bake bread and sell in the village.

They also requested the Minister to provide a solar system for their Recourse Center so that their children could study there.

Minister Vuniwaqa says the Ministry always stands ready to assist women and women’s groups who strive to better their livelihood.

Vuniwaqa is in Vanua Levu this week visiting women’s groups and handing over much-needed materials for their projects.
