Women need to come clean: Nambiar

There is a need to get women who suspect they have breast cancer to come forward and get diagnosed.

The Fiji Cancer Society believes everyone has a part to play in assisting those who have the disease.

President Nirmala Nambiar says many women who choose not to come forward are due to their circumstance.

“Women hesitate to come forward which basically means they are in denial. The fear and the ability to afford are the other factors. That is where society comes from to assist these women in terms of paying for their fares to enable to go to hospitals for further treatment.”

Nambiar says Breast cancer can be cured only if diagnosed at an early stage.
