A 34 year old woman of Nabitu settlement in Sigatoka is dead after she was struck with a cane knife by a 43 year old farmer.
Police spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed to FBC News the incident is alleged to have taken place at 8:40 yesterday evening.
The farmer is alleged to have entered the woman’s house and struck her.
A 46 year old man who was also inside the house during the attack, was also struck with the cane knife.
Police allege, the farmer then committed suicide after the attack.
Sokomuri says the woman died due to severe injuries she sustained while the 46 year old man is in a critical condition at the Lautoka hospital.
It’s alleged the woman was in a de-facto relationship with the farmer before leaving him and settled down with the 46 year old man.
Police Investigation continue.
