A 43-year-old woman, who was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm on a 32-year-old woman, has been jailed for one month and suspended for 12 months.

The woman, accused of having an affair with her husband, appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court today.

Asha Lata on the 26th of January, this year punched and pulled the hair of one Keshni Lata, after she saw her husband and the complainant talking together in the market.

The court heard that the 48-year-old husband of the accused went to buy vegetables at Keshni’s stall before the offence took place.

The mother of two was remorseful of her actions.
