Woman charged for importing drugs fails to appear in court

A clerical officer charged in relations to drug-related charges failed to appear for her court case yesterday.
Mereseini Asenate Luisa Ledua and her lawyer were not present for the case which was called before the Suva Magistrates Court.
Ledua has been charged with one count of importing illicit drugs and one count of being in possession of illicit drugs namely Methamphetamine.
It is alleged that on July 12th in Suva Fiji Ledua illegally imported and had in her possession 101.4 grams of Methamphetamine.
She was arrested while picking up a parcel from the Suva Post Office which allegedly contained Methamphetamine.
The drugs valued at $115, 000 were packed in a bottle of peanut butter and it was sent from America.
The case will be recalled on September 17th.
