‘’We started experiencing this very strong wind at around 6:30pm on Saturday evening. The first two rounds that came wasn’t really strong. However when the third round came it was very strong so I told my wife and the two kids to get ready to leave but when they were still packing we could just feel the wind carry the whole house, carried us together in the house for nearly one hundred meters before he threw us down a river. This is where my wife died instantly and my two children were hurt really bad’’.

The children were unable to witness their mother’s burial due to injuries sustained.

Severe Tropical Winston will be the event etched forever in their minds, it’s the storm that took their mother from them.
