A 40 year old man is in police custody for allegedly injuring his wife with a cane knife early yesterday morning in Sigatoka.

It is believed the couple was under the influence of liquor when the incident took place.

The woman was rushed to Sigatoka Hospital and remains under observation.

The suspect is expected to be charged later today.
