October 30, 2015 5:10 am

Women In Business Fiji held a fundraiser celebrating Pinktober by hosting a cocktail followed by a special screening of Kate Winslet’s movie, The Dressmaker.

WIB Preside Dr Nur Bano Ali says apart from working to promote women’s commercial interests and participation in business and commerce, WIB is also very supportive of giving back to the community.

“The generous donors who came out and just put their hands up and said you’re doing a good thing, let’s give you a hand. And we really truly appreciate it. To those individuals as you know some of them were there that night, including the Minister himself, Minister for Trade. Generally we want to thank every person who came and watched the movie with us and you know had fun while doing such a wonderful thing for our children.”

Three-hundred and sixty-five movie tickets were sold, coupled with donations from a number of business houses and topped off with contributions from WIB members; a total of ten-thousand dollars was raised.

The money will be presented to Children with cancer at the CWM Hospital next week.
