Eliminating violence against women and children that occurs at evacuation centres is one of the focuses of the Fiji Red Cross Society.

FRCS Health & Care Coordinator Marica Kepa says this is a challenge especially during emergencies.

In light of this, sixteen male Fiji Red Cross Society volunteers will undergo two days of training in the lead up to the White Ribbon Day in Tau village, Sigatoka this weekend.

The Society is working with the UN Women who are sponsoring the event.
