Wheelbarrow Race raises close to $100k

A race to bring about change for children with disabilities has today raised close to one hundred thousand dollars.

The Frank Hilton Organisation’s Wheelbarrow Race has been hailed a success for the third time.

Marketing Coordinator, Ashna Kumar says 17 teams registered for the race, however, 15 competed today in the race which was held on the circling road around Albert Park in Suva.

Kumar says all the funds collected today will be channeled towards complimenting the functions carried out by the Frank Hilton Organisation.

She adds the Harcourts Bluewater Real Estate team raised the highest funds amounting to $15,000.

Fortech Construction Limited was awarded with 1st place for two consecutive years.

While BlueScope Lysagth and BlueScope Steel settled for 2nd and 3rd places.

Kumar says the Organisation’s hopes to make the race a bigger event with more teams’ competing for a good cause.

The Frank Hilton Organisation oversees and manages the functions and operations of the Hilton Special School, Hilton Early Intervention Centre, Hilton House Hostel, Hilton Audiology Unit and Hilton Physiotherapy Unit.
