The Western Agriculture show will focus on the needs of the implementation of adaptation mechanisms for challenges posed by climate change.
This was highlighted by the Ministry of Agriculture who says the show will include demonstrations of live animals, crops and farming management practices.
The event also aims to promote agriculture in the country and provides the Ministry a platform to publicize its services and to encourage more farmers to venture into the farming business.
With this year’s show theme being “Climate Smart Agriculture for Fiji”, it promotes the basis of resilient and sustainable agricultural practices for climate adaptation and mitigation.
The event, which was previously held at national level, is being organized at the divisional level to allow farmers in rural areas to participate and learn from the show.
The 2017 Western Agriculture show will be from the 8th -10th of November at Koroivolu Ground in Nadi.
