The Ministry for Education has confirmed that schools in the Western Division will resume normal classes from tomorrow.

Ministry permanent secretary Dr Brij Lal has visited the affected schools and says they have liaised with school heads in the division to make alternative arrangements if their school is damaged.

However, the ministry is aware that some parents will not be able to send their children to school depending on the locality, transportation situation, the weather and the well being of the families.

Dr Lal says in such a situation it is up to the parents whether they want to send their children to school as the Ministry understands some might not be able to do so.
