West Red Cross Boss under scrutiny

All’s not well with Red Cross volunteers in Nadi who’ve signed a petition for the removal of their branch President.

This is all happening in the middle of a State of Natural Disaster in parts of the Western Division.

One of the world’s largest aid organisations, the Red Cross is facing problems of its own at a time when thousands are in need of assistance.

Eight volunteers have petitioned the head office in Suva claiming the Nadi Branch President is abusing his powers.

Branch President Mohammed Yunus says some people are undermining his work and he won’t step down because he’s done nothing wrong.

The volunteers having gone public with the issue risk being victimized to see that their concerns are heard.
