Weight and lane restriction on Tamavua-I-Wai to remain

October 8, 2018 5:09 am

The weight and lane restriction on the Tamavua-I-Wai Bridge on the Queens Road will continue until November.

The Fiji Roads Authority had placed the restriction in August for six weeks to carry out maintenance to the bridge substructure.

However, the Authority confirms the restriction will remain in place until next month.

FRA says the maintenance work is to ensure the continued safe operation of the bridge.

Load restrictions have been applied to the bridge, including the implementation of a single lane traffic flow from 8pm to 5am daily.

Heavy vehicles up to 32 tonne will continue to be restricted for crossing the bridge in this period and daytime crossings are restricted to a maximum vehicle weight of 20 tonne.
