We worked within the Terms of Reference: MOG co-chair

November 17, 2018 11:53 pm

The Multi-National Observer Group operated within the Terms of Reference that was laid out for them says co-chair Jane Prentice.

Prentice says the terms of reference gave them an opportunity to speak to a wide range of people including political parties and ordinary Fijians.

The MOG members have witnessed electoral preparations, pre-polling, Election Day polling, counting and tabulation of results so far.

They were also present at some of the 22 polling venues where voting was done yesterday.

“But the terms of reference included the opportunity to gain information and feedback from opposition parties and other people involved in the process. So clearly some of the issues that they raised will be taken into account and we will form recommendations and as you can see from our interim statement there are quite a number of areas that we have assessed.”

The MOG will deliver a detailed final report following the conclusion of all electoral processes.
