The Fiji Labour Party says that if they form the next government, their first priority will be to pay sugarcane growers a fair price for their produce.

Party Leader Mahendra Chaudhry says the party will reform the harvesting and transport system to make these cost effective to farmers and the industry.

Chaudhry says they will also upgrade and extend the rail infrastructure.

He highlighted this yesterday at the party’s manifesto launch along with other initiatives that the FLP is proposing.

“We will bring down the cost of business, cost of utility electricity, telecom, we will reduce various hidden charges and levies. We will boost investment to enhance employment opportunities and incomes. We will review the capital gain stats.”

He adds, the FLP will prioritize easing of the serious traffic congestion by upgrading the infrastructure.
