The Ministry of Youth and Sports says it will not entertain opportunists or youth clubs who register just to receive assistance from Government.
Assistant Minister Iliesa Delana informed youths in Nadroga that the Ministry is aware of past trends where youth clubs registered just to get assistance from the government.
He says this opportunistic trend will no longer be tolerated.
Delana says assistance is available within the ministry and other Government agencies.
However, there are measures and strict guidelines in place that will ensure the assistance proposed and offered is targeted and suitable for youth development.
Registered youth groups must submit timely monthly reports of all their activities to assist the ministry in designing relevant programs that will boost the clubs and empower their members.
