We should work together to stop corruption: FCOSS

In an effort to combat corruption the Fiji Council of Social Services took a step forward in promoting dialogue amongst their partners.

The dialogue aims to build transparency as well as accountable systems and processes to ensure that resources are solely used for the benefit of the communities they serve.

Australian High Commissioner to Fiji, John Feakes says Australia is committed to supporting local organisation in promoting accountability, not only to donors but also to their partners.

FCOSS has been developing a self-regulatory draft Code of Accountability since 2014 to attempt not just to build better accountable and transparent systems, but also a means to build legitimacy to advocate effectively on anti-corruption.

FCOSS Executive Director, Vani Catanasiga says FCOSS expresses their gratitude to the Australian Government for their continued commitment to supporting civil society efforts to strengthen organizational capacity and governance.
