The Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, Qian Bo reveals that they will not take anything from any country that owes them money.
This comes after it was raised with him during a press conference yesterday, if the Chinese Government would take an asset from a particular country if they don’t pay their debt.
Bo says they are very patient when it comes to countries paying their debt.
“When this kind of situation happens, we always have the patience and we have full consultations on equal basis with the country concerned. If some country are unable to pay their debt, we are always in a position to consult and discuss a better way of finding a solution to it.”
He adds that they do not force any country to pay up what they owe.
The ambassador reiterates they have never taken anything from any country that could not pay their debt and this includes both developed and developing countries.
