The Fiji Sugar Corporation has stated they don’t respond to third party queries.

This comes after the National Federation Party released a statement calling for the early payment of the final cane payment to the farmers before Diwali.

NFP Leader Professor Biman Prasad says it was only prudent and logical to process and make the payment by early next week so that growers and their families are able to use the funds to prepare for Diwali prayers and celebrations.

Prasad says the payment should be free of any deductions for fertilizer, farm loans and other expenses normally associated with the final payment so that growers and their families have enough money for Diwali.

However, FSC Chief Executive Graham Clark says they will maintain their policy and that is they will not respond to any third party query.

Clark says for cane payment, an announcement will be made in due course.
