New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says her message is not so much focused on leadership, just humanity.

While speaking with Radio Tarana, Ardern says she hopes that she has done her job speaking to the Muslim community, on behalf of all Kiwis.

“The Muslim community have said that they see New Zealand as a place of inclusion, diversity and that if we are united, that we can continue to practice those values, but we have to defend them as well. This was an attack brought to us by someone who is not a citizen of New Zealand, that did not discover his ideology here, but that doesn’t’ mean we can be complacent.”

She adds people were there in solidarity and in support of the Muslim community.
