May 4, 2014 7:15 pm

Newly elected People’s Democractic Party leader Felix Anthony says they’re not a breakaway of the Fiji Labour Party.

Anthony stresses the PDP has its own identity and will offer voters a multiracial party for the 2014 General Elections.

Felix Anthony is a former Labour Party member who walked out on the FLP in 2012 due to the differences he had with Mahendra Chaudhry’s leadership.

“I dont think people consider us as a breakway from the labour party. The labour party has got its own identity. We have a different view of things our beleif is different not only that we want to practise what we preach.”

Anthony now has the chance of leading his own party having being elected PDP leader yesterday at their inaugural convention.

“The many policies that I have talked about these are things we will do we will walk the talk as i have said thats the real change i will leave it at that i dont want to talk about any other party.”

FLP leader Mahendra Chaudhry says he has no comment to make about the PDP adding that the people know about the party.
