Water disruption in Suva increases

December 10, 2014 6:04 pm

The Water Authority of Fiji is advising residents in Namadi Heights and Cunningham in Suva that they will now be without water.

However, water carting will continue to all areas affected.

The Water Authority of Fiji says that because of the demand in water carting, they’re offering an alternative for residents that may like to collect their own water at no cost.

Water can be collected at two filling points in Jerusalem Road behind Asco Motors and at the Plant world in Veisari, Lami.

Areas that are affected from water disruptions are Lami, Samabula, Toorak Road, Waimanu, Tamavua and whole of Namadi Heights and Cunningham.

Residents are also advised to store enough water and boil all drinking water before consumption.

Meanwhile, WAF engineers and technicians are working around the clock to fix the two water main trunk lines at Savura Hills that were washed away during the heavy rain in the weekend.

More than 70,000 residents have been badly affected.

Water supply is expected to be restored by Sunday morning.
