Thousands of residents living between Nadi and Lautoka will be facing water disruptions from Saturday evening till Monday morning.

The Water Authority will be carrying out urgent repair on their defective portion of the main supply located at Batiri, Vaturu in Nadi.

Board Director Kamal Gounder says as a result of this defect they are losing a lot of water daily.

“There is lot of water running through our high pressured line so on our DN 600 line that is running from Vaturu , all the way to Nagado which is a very high pressured line so there is a water pipe line cross connection chamber at Vatiri land which is about 3km away from Vaturu and about 15 km away from Nagado so there has been a burst in the rubber and as a result we are losing 5 mega liters of water per day.”

Gounder says water is expected to be fully restored by Monday morning.

WAF trucks will be carting water to the affected areas.
