The Commissioner Eastern in coordination with its Emergency Water Committee Taskforce has completed its Water Carting exercise for critical areas in Lomaiviti and Northern Lau.
The four areas in Lomaiviti that were covered under this assistance are Batiki, Nairai, Moturiki and Bureta.
“A total of 100,000 liters of water was supplied to Batiki and Nairai while 300,000 liters of water was distributed to Bureta and Moturiki. For Northern Lau, 100,000 liters of water was distributed to Tuvuca and Avea while 97,000 liters of water was sent to Adi Maopa Secondary School.”
The Divisional Emergency Operation Center is awaiting verifications on weather update and water levels for Dravuni/Buliya and Lovu.
The water carting for these areas is expected to commence before October.
