Water Authority happy with $110 million budget

The Water Authority of Fiji will work at minimizing glitches in its supply of water to customers as well as modernize piping systems both for water and sewerage.

WAF chief executive, Opetaia Ravai says the bulk of their budget for 2013 will go towards improving the standards of services provided by the Authority.

Ravai explained that the improvements will pave the way for future development, especially the upgrade of the sewerage facilities around the country.

“some of the projects we will complete next year some of it a part of a bigger plan for example the water loss management will be a continual programme and from the next three to five years we hope to bring the water loss percentage down to a level that is economically manageable also the pressure management system which we’ll put in place which will regulate the pressures to our customers”.

WAF was allocated $110 million in the 2013 National budget.
