Firefighters are still trying to control a fire at the Atlas Trading Warehouse in Viria East, Vatuwaqa.

The fire started at about eight this morning.

When FBC News reached the scene this morning, only heavy smoke was coming out of the building, however, now it’s fully engulfed.

Four fire trucks responded to the emergency however, they had difficulty opening a fire hydrant just in front of the burning warehouse.

Our journalist Ritika Pratap who is at the scene says when the firefighters managed to open the fire hydrant, there was no water.

The fire trucks are now trying to get water to control the fire to stop it from spreading to other buildings.
