December 20, 2016 4:42 pm

The Water Authority of Fiji engineers worked around the clock to provide clean drinking water to selected areas outside Suva that have been facing disruptions.

Acting chief executive Samanmal Ekanayake says a twenty-member team worked non-stop to repair the damaged clarifier at the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant.

Ekanayake says the clarifier sustained damage over the weekend due to the high level of solids in the water as a result of the stormy weather.

The clarifier is used to remove solid particulates or suspended solids from water as part of the pre-treatment process.
