WAF to carry out projects to replace under-sized pipes

The Water Authority is working on improving water supply by commissioning new and large water pipes.

General Manager Customer Services Sekove Uluinayau says the current water pipes are they have are undersized.

Uluinayau says replacing the pipes will go a long way not only for their customers but for them as well.

“One of the things we are doing is through some projects we are investing in capital to replace all those under-sized pipes and put in bigger pipes that can meet the demand. Apart from that we are also working on replacing the old infrastructure.”

Uluinayau says they are also setting up water supply systems in rural schemes, reaching over 700, 000 people nationwide.

He says to ensure maximum service delivery, WAF has allocated a total of $8.54m for this financial year.
