The Water Authority of Fiji says people should take advantage of its Rural New Connections Project.
Under the project low income earners who can’t afford the installation costs for the connection of their new water meters will be assisted.
The project is part of a $300,000 government initiative which target people living in rural areas and are within WAF’s reticulation system coverage.
Another condition is that people must have the annual household income of less than $8,700.
The eligibility of each applicant will be assessed based on these criteria.
The applicant will be pre-qualified based on the above mentioned criteria and be required to pay for the $21.95 application fee, whilst the recovery of the installation costs will be spread over a period of 24 months.
