Minister for Infrastructure Jone Usamate says that urban drift is one of the major cause of the inconsistency of Water Supply in many urban areas.

Usamate says they are dealing with the issue and Water Authority have been tasked to find avenues of improving water supply to all Fijians.

He says a number of projects have been developed to better the water supply.

Usamate says with more people coming to urban centres there are also challenges concerning wastewater.

WAF says they are also setting up water supply systems in rural areas, reaching over 700, 000 people nationwide.
