WAF spends $11.9m in rehab works

The Water Authority of Fiji has spent around $11.9m on rehabilitation works after the recent flooding.

WAF spokesperson Maika Nagalu says this figure is expected to increase once the flood water fully recedes.

Nagalu says the Authority is trying it’s best to restore water supply to affected areas in the Western Division.

Repairing works on the Buabua raw water main was completed yesterday and supply from Buabua Water Treatment Plant will begin soon.

Meanwhile, repair works on the Varaqe intake is about 80 per cent complete.

Supply from Saru Water Treatment Plant should be expected in about 36hours time.
